Hi Mike, sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the comments. As you know we travel extensivley and meet several lean enterprise facilitators. Some are great and others just don't have the heart. Because this talent is difficult to find, we have moved into the position of training internal folks whom rise out of the ashes, typically during a kaizen event. At the end of the day, an outside influence is always desireable. We call this a technology transfer. Unfortunatley, there is no list of "Official" resources to go to. Please let me know if I can be of further help!

Tom (a.k.a. the Rodney Dangerfield of lean),

I was very fortunent to have been trained by yourself and some excellent people at Pratt and Whitney (Dave Ervin and Paul Schmelke) in a train-the-trainer class. This was several years ago and I have since moved on from P&W to ATK (Alliant Techsystems) building composite hardware for the space industry.

ATK is in the process of moving towards a lean methodolgy and have developed a program based on TPS - we are calling it PES (performance enterprise systems).

As director of operations at the San Diego facility, I am working to hire a lean manager to bring us (kicking and screaming if need be) into the future. I have talked to competant people, but they are the A-players that I believe will facilitate the culture change that is needed.

Do you have a resource that would be available to assist in sourcing the best of the best?

Thanks. Mike Patterson.
